   SAINT-BRIAC sur Mer

Charles Badoisel painted and made several drawings of this part of the « Côte d'Emeraude » from 1950 onwards. Staying each summer in the family home in St Briac, he was an active witness of the vibrant life of this typical-provincial town with its fishermen homes closely surrounding the church.
Like Emile Bernard, his famous predecessor, Charles B. admired the movement of tides which gives the landscape of the coast its never ending diverse plalette of colours. The beach of Le Béchet, the castle of Nessay, the Frémur, the Pointe de la Garde Guérin, the Port-Hue, the small and the big Salinette, will have been visited and revisited year after year under Charles B. artistic colours, pencils and oils.
Saint Briac remained during his entire life his main port, the place he never stopped exploring, never stopped visiting again and again for his paintings. It is on this coast that he started painting and gave the full measure of his talent.
